On 14th November 2024, our Launch JDI MeetUp: Artificial Intelligence was successfully concluded, marking an inspiring milestone for AI enthusiasts and visionaries.
Hosted in Ho Chi Minh City, the event brought together over 81 business leaders, founders, investors, and key stakeholders, creating an invaluable space for sharing industry insights and exploring AI’s expanding role in retail and beyond.

Launch JDI MeetUp: Artificial Intelligence officially kicked off with a warm welcome from Mr. Daryl Chung, Co-Founder and Business Development Director at JDI.

Launch JDI has always been at the forefront of innovation, empowering Vietnamese organizations to embrace innovative tech solutions from Singapore and beyond. Thus, Mr. Daryl expressed his hope that the Launch JDI MeetUp series would pave the way for Vietnam to lead in AI adoption, digital transformation, and global competitiveness.
As the much-anticipated panel discussion, “Embracing AI to Accelerate Digital Transformation in Vietnam’s Retail Industry” approached, the energy in the room grew. Experts were ready to explore emerging trends in AI, diving into strategies for harnessing AI’s potential to drive growth within the retail industry.
Joining us were two guest speakers, Ms. Tran Phuong Chi, CEO at Phong Vu, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son, Senior Manager of Data Services Delivery at Rackspace Technology. Both shared valuable insights on innovative strategies for leveraging AI-driven decision-making.

As a leader driving innovation, Ms. Chi believes AI will completely transform the retail industry, enabling businesses to achieve new levels of operational efficiency. She stated, “AI will help us do 50% of the job, so we can have more time to do other things.”
A sentiment that deeply resonated with the attendees, sparking discussions on how AI can streamline repetitive tasks in retail operations and free up human resources for more strategic decision-making and customer-focused initiatives.

Interestingly, Mr. Son, while optimistic about AI’s transformative potential for the retail sector, emphasized a cautious approach, stating, “The most important thing before a company adopts AI is a data foundation.”
His perspective sparked conversations on the importance of readiness in AI adoption, where data quality and infrastructure play a crucial role in maximizing AI’s benefits while minimizing potential risks.

Right afterward, the “90 Seconds Spotlight” segment took center stage, offering guests a unique opportunity to introduce themselves and showcase their AI solutions directly to the audience.
