The Vietnam Immersion Programme: EdTech has successfully concluded over five action-packed days from November 27 to December 1 in Ho Chi Minh City.

This is also our most impactful VIP to date, with a whopping 163 business matching meetings conducted, 6 campus visits, and 2 exclusive networking events that brought together a diverse audience, including founders, educators, investors, business leaders, and esteemed chamber members from both Vietnam and Singapore.

At Launch JDI, we believe that technology and innovation can enable a better tomorrow in Vietnam’s strong growth trajectory into the next decade.

Vietnam Immersion Programme: EdTech, is a 5-day mission in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, organized by SGTech, in partnership with Launch JDI and EduSpaze.

The programme aims to accelerate market entry into Vietnam through 1-to-1 business matching meetings, campus visits and networking events, with key stakeholders in the local education ecosystem.

These forward-thinking organizations are not only seeking growth opportunities beyond borders but are also deeply interested in contributing to the expansion and transformation of Vietnam’s education landscape.

Open to forging strategic partnerships and commercial relationships, they have participated in our VIP: EdTech event to connect with Singapore EdTech companies interested in contributing to Vietnam’s education transformation.

The business matching, held at the New World Hotel, right at the vibrant heart of Ho Chi Minh City, was one of the most important parts of our programme. Over the course of VIP: EdTech, we facilitated 163 fruitful meetings, successfully connecting 8 Singapore EdTech companies with 29 Vietnam educational organizations.

Throughout the process, our Singaporean delegates were filled with anticipation as it paved an initial way for them to access Vietnam’s market, assisting them on their first step towards seamless expansion into the country.

The meetings were equally transformative for Vietnamese schools as it helped to lay the groundwork for their institution’s digital transformation journey, promising to drive a new era of tech-enabled teaching and learning experiences.

Business Matchings Session 1

This session spanned over six hours, providing a dynamic platform where our Singapore delegation had the chance to showcase their cutting-edge technologies and market-ready solutions directly to representatives from esteemed Vietnamese educational institutions, including ICS School, IGC, Royal School, IEC Group, HUTECH, UEH University, Greenwich, UMT, Hoa Sen University, OUP, Sylvan Learning, Van Lang Incubation, HUFLIT, HCMUTE, and The High School for the Gifted.

Within this exciting atmosphere, there were numerous in-depth discussions and exchanges to address EdTech challenges. And we are truly thrilled to witness potential collaboration being formed regardless of geographical differences.

Business Matchings Session 2

In the Business Matching Session 2, we continued to welcome representatives from KDI Education, Khai Sang Corporation, Vietnam Australia International School (VAS), Vinschool, Asean Primary School, Hoa Sen Middle School – High School, The University of Finance & Marketing (UFM), Vietnamese-German University (VGU), Ho Chi Minh City University of Science (HCMUS), iSchool, Inspire Schools, KTDC IELTS Training Center, Hanwha Life, Nutifood to the business matching sessions with our Singapore delegation.

As the session progressed, meaningful discussions unfolded and innovative sparks ignited, setting the stage for potential partnerships that promise to reshape the future of EdTech in Vietnam.

Campus Visits

Campus visits enable our Singapore delegation to explore leading universities and institutes, offering a firsthand look into the local education landscape in Vietnam. These visits are instrumental in establishing meaningful connections with the school’s board, opening doors for potential future collaborations.

 

Campus Visit To FPT University

Established in September 2006, FPT University was the first private school founded by FPT Corporation – a pioneer in Vietnam’s IT sector. With its modern and international standard facilities, FPT University is one of the few universities in Vietnam that has campuses across 3 regions in Hanoi, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Right from the outset, our journey began with a warm embrace, kicking off with a remarkable campus tour. This experience was not just a tour; it was a profound immersion into the integral role that FPT University plays in advancing the human development of the country. 

As we traversed the campus, we delved into the university’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and shaping the future leaders of Vietnam.

Each Singapore delegate also had the opportunity to connect with the university’s representatives, presenting them with innovative technologies that can help to enhance FPT students’ learning experience.

Campus Visit to I Can School (ICS Bilingual School)

ICS (I Can School) is an educational institution established with the mission of creating a happy learning environment for children. They also work alongside FAROS Education & Consulting and the world’s largest children’s movement, Design for Change, to build the next generation of future leaders.

Right at the beginning, we were brought to an engaging campus tour, led by not only the school representatives but also the students here! It was a particularly fun and insightful experience which has added a personal touch to our visit.

This visit was a great opportunity for our Singapore delegation to meet and connect with the school board in person, immersing themselves in the school’s unique atmosphere and exploring its innovative facilities.

Campus Visit to University of Management and Technology (UMT)

Located in Thu Duc City, UMT aspires to serve as a beacon for a modern university and a symbol of transformative higher education in Vietnam. It is designed in accordance with international standards, featuring expansive, well-planned modern facilities and an international curriculum.

As we commenced our visit to UMT, the Singapore delegation initiated the day with a productive meeting with the school’s representatives. This initial session set the stage for a productive exchange of ideas and insights, uncovering potential collaboration opportunities with the university and opening doors to future cross-border educational innovation.

Enthusiastically, they also guided us on a captivating tour of the campus, offering valuable insights into UMT’s state-of-the-art facilities, dynamic environment, and their dedication to pioneering education through innovative methods.

Campus Visit To Inspire Schools (by BHL

Inspire Schools – Khai Nguyen school system is a private school system under the umbrella of BHL Education Group, renowned for its commitment to delivering exceptional educational experiences.

Upon our arrival at Inspire Schools, we had the privilege of exploring the school’s infrastructure. Guided by IS’s teachers and students, we were able to witness firsthand the extensive efforts they have made to create a vibrant learning environment.

During the visit, our delegation also participated in productive meetings with the school’s board, learning about their goal of delivering exceptional educational experiences and bridging the gap through cutting-edge technologies.

On the final campus visit, we accompanied our Singapore delegation to Van Lang University (VLU). With enthusiasm echoing through the halls, our Singaporean counterparts eagerly shared insights about their cutting-edge companies and innovative solutions. It was a dynamic exchange, birthing fresh possibilities and exciting collaborations on the horizon.

Following our meeting, VLU representatives treated us to an insightful campus tour, unveiling the rich tapestry of the university’s facilities. From cutting-edge resources to lively student life hubs, each corner showcased their unwavering dedication to providing a comprehensive and vibrant educational experience.

Networking Events

In addition to our insightful campus visits and impactful business matchings, we also host special networking events to strengthen the bond between our Singapore delegation and Vietnamese educational organizations. 

These gatherings provide unique opportunities for them to meet not only with other key stakeholders in Vietnam’s EdTech sector but also with investors, educators, and business leaders. This fosters meaningful relationships that go beyond mere business greetings.

More importantly, the networking event serves as a great space for our Singapore delegation to unwind and relax after those intense business matching meetings and campus visits.

Launch JDI MeetUp: EdTech is an exclusive networking event where founders, investors, innovators, business leaders, and educators come together for meaningful discussions, make new connections, and explore exciting EdTech opportunities in Vietnam

During the event, we also hosted an inspiring panel discussion with an amazing line-up of speakers, featuring Ms. Thai Van Linh, CEO & Founder of Skills Bridge and Senior Advisor of Openspace Ventures, Mr. Eddie Thai, General Partner at Ascend Vietnam Ventures (AVV), and Mr. Alex Ng, Managing Director of EduSpaze.

Before officially concluding the programme, we accompanied our delegates to a grand final networking event organized by Singapore Chamber of Commerce Vietnam (SCCV) and SGTech, supported by Singapore Global Network (SGN).
