About Vietnam Immersion Programme: Smart City
Vietnam Immersion Programme: Smart City (VIP: Smart City) is a 4-day programme held in Ho Chi Minh City – the technology hub and economic center of Vietnam, to facilitate business matching and networking between:
- Tech companies with innovative technologies and commercial-ready solutions who are ready to enter Vietnam
- Key stakeholders of the local smart city agenda and projects in Vietnam
Through our series of VIP programmes, we aim to contribute to 0.1% of Vietnam’s digital economy by introducing, educating, and implementing the elements of digital transformation to at least 10,000 organizations.

Established in 2014, Gtriip is an innovator in document-less human travel with the mission to provide identity verification solutions for hotels and offices, making the check-in process faster while still upholding privacy.
Trevo (Travellers Verification Online) – their first product for the hospitality vertical, allows guests to digitally check in with a selfie, and check out via the web using their smartphones. The platform can also issue guests with digital keys to access the room, bypassing the reception.

The first day’s morning was featured with great insights into how Hoa Binh Innovation Center – HBIC is revolutionizing Vietnam’s construction industry through smart city solutions, and its future direction to become one of the top brands in the region through its 6 key technological pillars for innovation.
The Singapore delegation also had a fruitful 1-1 business matching with Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung – General Director of Hoa Binh Innovation Centre, to discuss the potential opportunities for collaboration through their open innovation platform and ecosystem in Vietnam.

Business Matching Trip To VNPT-IT
On Day 1’s afternoon, we have the pleasure to meet Pham The Trung – Deputy Director, Mr. Nguyen Khac Hieu – Head of Solution Dept 2, and Mr. Truong Quang Khai – Head of Solution Dept 3 of VNPT, to learn about the VNPT-IT’s ecosystem and why they are looking for innovative solutions to their sustainable smart city projects.
The 1-to-1 business matching meetings also ended on a high note as our delegates were able to have in-depth discussions with VNPT-IT regarding the potential areas for collaboration.

Day 2 morning continues with the Singapore delegation’s trip to Viettel Solutions. Here, we got an overview of Viettel Solutions’ ecosystem across different sectors in Vietnam, as well as for overseas markets, through the dedicated sharings from Mr. Doan Dai Phong – Deputy CEO, and other key leaders of Viettel Solutions.
The 1-to-1 business matching meetings also sparked many inspiring conversations and new business opportunities between all parties.

The afternoon of Vietnam Immersion Programme Day 2 with SGTech marked our visit to SonKim Land. After a warm welcome session with Mr. Tran Huan – Chief Technology Officer of SonKim Land, there was an ongoing panel discussion on how SonKim Land became the leading real estate company in Vietnam that meet international standards.

Exhibition At RTD Conference
We kickstart our Day 2 with the Singapore pavilion exhibition at the International Scientific Conference RTD 2022. Through the exhibition, the Singapore smart city participants were able to showcase their products and services to industry leaders, academics, and the local media.

VIP: Smart City – Day 3 afternoon started with a trip to TMA Solutions. We were in for a treat right at the start as TMA Solutions guided us through a tour of their facilities to share about their growth, milestones, and capabilities built throughout their 25-year history.
Mr. Tran Phuc Hong – Vice President of TMA Solutions also shared with us their impressive portfolio of projects and coverage across 30 markets globally, and their partnership strategy to help Singapore companies tap into Vietnam Market.
On the other hand, the 1-to-1 business matching meetings sparked productive discussions on various commercial and collaborative models for the Singapore companies to deliberate on.

As a result, they are also greatly interested in any potential areas for improving their craft. The networking event also rounded off 4 days of our Vietnam Immersion Programme: Smart City in Ho Chi Minh City with success.
